"Elektroporcelan Louny's"
Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", March 2005, page 24

This insulator is from the Czech Republic. It might be a new style of foreign porcelain insulators. It is unmarked but I was told it was made by :ELP" which stands for the following meaning, "Elektroporcelan Louny". I was told this by a friend of mine over there (Frantisek Danek).

It s pure white but is not a uni-part as most are but rather a 3 skirt multi-part. The crown alone is just over 3 inches high with a wire groove on top. The dimensions are 4.1 x 3.1 x 2.2 x 14 tall. I did a tape measure across the top instead of around, and divided by 3.14 to get the above dimensions.

This U-3107 was made by the same company and is marked. It is was made to protect the power lines in World War II. It is not a uni-part but its base is cemented into the second skirt, odd. Does anyone have ideas or information about this kind of insulator?
